Twenty-one months

Well it was actually yesterday that Isaac turned twenty-one months old but I never got to post this blog! After one year old, I don't necessarily document every single month, but I try to document every few, more for my own sake. I want to remember what my little guy was doing three months before he turned two. So, here's a lengthy list that maybe only the Gramas will want to read. Isaac:
  • Is talking like crazy. Hundreds of words and new ones everyday. He appears to be a bit "ahead" in the language department for his age.
  • Is saying three word sentences now like: "more pear Daddy"
  • Knows the colors: white, blue, pink, red, green, yellow, and purple. Seems to have gotten black and brown down recently. Will put them together with a word like "white sock" quite frequently now.
  • Loves to hop on two feet.
  • Now loves to go to "shurch" (church) for my MOPs and Bible Study. Will willingly go into the room with no tears at all. Same is true if I leave him with anyone else at our house or someone else's house.
  • Is helping quite a bit with picking up toys and other things I ask him (like putting clothes into dryer or emptying the dishwasher.)
  • Loves shapes. His favorites to tell you are: circle, heart, star, oval, and diamond.
  • Said "Mommy" and then "Dare" to tell me that he had shared with Elijah. Even more impressive was that he shared a Curious George doll. Woah!
  • Is starting to request that we go somewhere. Like "Buh-bye" or "Riah" (for Joia's house.)
  • Will say "hand" and take your hand to show you what he wants if he doesn't have the words.
  • Is wearing size 24M or 2T clothes. Size 6.5 shoe. (All the same as his brother.)
  • Gives kisses and hugs quite readily now although his love language is definitely quality time. He wants you to read to him or talk to him as much as you are willing.
  • Sleeps with a ton of stuffed animals (just like his Bri did.)
  • Will say "dirty" when his diaper is dirty. Then when you go to change him he will say "rash" and "cream" nearly every time. Usually very cooperative when getting his diaper or clothes changed.
  • Loves to wear his boots (from Kristi) or slippers in the house. Usually always has something on his feet.
  • Knows that when we come in the house, shoes come off. As we pull up to the house, he will say "house" and then "Bubby." Then as we walk into the house he will say "shoes" and "dirty" to indicate that we don't wear shoes in the house.
  • Is now saying "no thank you" which comes out "no do-do." :) The other day I told him it was time for a nap and he used the word perfectly when he replied, "no-do-do." Unfortunately, he had to take a nap anyways.
  • Has recently felt a bit threatened that Elijah can now initiate wrestling. If he starts it, it's fine. But if Elijah starts it he quickly says: "Push" to let me know of Elijah's "bad" behavior.
  • Probably likes Daddy and Mommy pretty evenly now ... no real favoritism being indicated.
  • Has taught Elijah his "crazy dance" where he runs from one foot to the other as fast as he can. This is especially fun in the bathtub.
  • Will often say "seat" just to sit in his booster seat to play with his toys. Sometimes just likes to be there for a "break" from the world down below.
  • Can recognize most of his friends and family in pictures and tell me their names.
  • Loves to watch movies when we let him. We are keeping the choices small and relaxed in nature. Praise Baby CDs, Curious George, Pooh, Thomas, and The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He usually only gets to watch 30 minutes every other day or so, but he loves it!
  • Is a pretty good eater. Still seems to prefer fruit to everything. Loves all kinds of melons. Definitely eats when he wants.
  • According to most of my friends and Kristi most recently, Isaac is one of the most "chill" kids they have ever met. He will sit on your lap reading for hours if you let him. He cries very rarely and is incredibly easy-going. From what I remember of Bri, she was the same way so we really can't take credit for what appears to just be in his make-up.
  • Can recognize most of the animals in books or flashcards. Even moose, raccoon, chameleon, flamingo, and hippo are on the list.
